About the Project

Ultralevel’s existing website needed a complete overhaul while maintaining their existing design. The website was previously coded using the unorthodox table based layout methods which is now frowned upon and has many disadvantages. The original website was smaller in width. This was because monitor sizes back in the day generally could not support a website larger than 800 pixels without a side scroll. I started from scratch using the old design as a reference, increased the width of the site’s container, and recoded the site using standard compliant XHTML/CSS.

The website’s content management system didn’t give the administrator control with updates or the ability to change meta titles, keywords, and description. The client and I both agreed that Wordpress would be the best solution. At least 90% of their website can be updated through Wordpress and plugins.
